Keep the two fields separate

The current manufacturer-linked strawberry-preserves panel lists 13 g total sugars and 12 g added sugars per 20 g serving. The blueberry-jam panel lists 9 g total sugars and 8 g added sugars per 19 g serving. Total and added are related fields, not quantities to add together. The site does not report 25 g sugars for the preserves by summing 13 and 12, nor interpret an omitted retailer field as a verified zero.

Do not repair an ambiguous honey panel by guessing

The linked honey panel shows 17 g total sugars per 21 g serving, but its footer creates uncertainty about added-sugars presentation for the current product. Jar & Field records added sugars as unresolved for that captured artifact. It does not infer zero because honey is the named food or copy a different brand's label. The actual current package and an exact manufacturer clarification are the appropriate next evidence.

Avoid a personal safety conclusion

A number on a Nutrition Facts panel does not establish that a food is safe for every person with diabetes or suitable for an individual medical plan. The site offers no disease treatment, blood-sugar prediction or personalized intake advice. It also does not turn natural, raw or fruit-based language into a no-sugar claim. The actual ingredient and nutrient statements remain separate from broad marketing impressions.

Compare the right version

A Bonne Maman fruit spread is not automatically the selected strawberry preserves, and another Stonewall flavor can have a different panel. Keep exact name, size and source date with every sugar field. If a new version changes the list, preserve the two records and ask about the exact package rather than silently combining them. The finder is a navigation aid for these captured panels, not a complete nutrition database or a clinical ranking.

Do not treat an omitted added-sugars line as zero

A retailer summary may show total sugars while leaving out added sugars. That omission can reflect an incomplete display rather than a zero value on the actual panel. For the selected preserves, the maker image explicitly supplies 12 gadded sugars even though Target's short summary does not. Preserve that source relationship instead of filling the retailer's blank with a favorable assumption. For honey, the captured footer uncertainty remains unresolved rather than being repaired by analogy. The same principle applies to an unreviewed flavor: a missing field needs evidence, not an automatic nutritional advantage.
