Start with the actual merchandise lines
One selected $18 honey jar,$6.89 preserves jar and $8.95 jam jar total $33.84 in merchandise. The tool parses dollars and cents into integer cents before adding or comparing them. That prevents a decimal representation artifact from rejecting a discount equal to the actual subtotal. It accepts at most two decimal places and does not silently round a three-decimal quote into a different monetary value.
Allow equality in the arithmetic
If the user enters a confirmed merchandise discount of $33.84 against that $33.84 base, the net merchandise result is exactly $0.00. A discount of $33.85 exceeds the base and remains invalid. This is an arithmetic rule, not proof that any selected seller offers or permits such a promotion. The maker's actual coupon restrictions can be stricter, and the site does not validate eligibility or combine multiple merchants into one coupon transaction.
Keep charges outside the discount scope
The entered discount applies to merchandise only in this tool. Shipping, tax and other actual charges are added only when all are explicitly known. A full merchandise discount does not imply free shipping or zero tax, and the tool does not calculate tax law. Blank charge fields remain unknown; confirmed zeros must be entered as zeros. The result is a planning calculation using user-supplied actual quotes.
Check meaningful decimal boundaries
The local QA includes ten cents times three, two user-entered $47.99 lines totaling $95.98 and a full $95.98 discount. Those are explicit arithmetic test inputs, not fabricated product observations. Negative amounts, nonfinite notation, fractions of a cent and excessive values are rejected. A zero quantity creates zero merchandise, while a discount above that zero is invalid. The site does not submit the basket or reserve stock.
A valid discount amount can still be commercially ineligible
Savannah Bee's actual FAQ describes coupon minimums and other restrictions. The calculator's ability to subtract a user-entered full-merchandise amount does not assert that the brand permits that transaction. Its role is to avoid a mathematical error when an actual confirmed discount equals the subtotal. Keep eligibility and arithmetic as two checks. If a seller requires a basket greater than a coupon value, that condition must be met at the actual checkout regardless of the local number. No loyalty points, membership identity or coupon code is sent from this tool.
